September Post

Another month has whizzed by, and for many of you dancing had started again in earnest. I have attended a Day School at Wing and a dancing holiday in Great Malvern (a beautiful location, but the weather was very warm, dancing in 29 degrees is not my idea of fun, bur after 18 months without any dancing I was happy to get started again.

On Take the Floor in the past month, there have been programmes from Alasair Hunter, Ron Kerr and Ian Muir (the Ayrshire one). Today's programme features John Carmichael, and next week Tom Orr will be playing, here is a link to the website:

And here is something to entertain you, the brilliant Dudley Moore, playing "Colonel Bogey" as it could have been, if written by Beethoven!

Here are some "funnies" supplied by Diana: (you may have seen some of them before, but tey will still make you groan!).

A cross-eyed teacher couldn't control his pupils.

She had a photographic memory, but never developed it.

Is it ignorance or apathy that's destroying the world today? I don't know and I don't really care.

I wasn't originally going to get a brain transplant, but then I changed my mind.

Which country's capital has the fastest-growing population? Ireland, every day is is Dublin.

My ex-wife still misses me, but her aim is starting to improve.

The guy who invented the door knocker got a no-bell prize.

I saw an ad for burial plots, and I thought, "That is the last thing I need!"

Need an ark? Noah guy.

I used to be decisive, but now I am not so sure.

Sleeping comes so naturally to me, I could do it with my eyes closed.

What did the grape say when it got stepped on? Nothing, it just let out a little whine.

The past, the present, and the future walked into a bar. It was tense.

I'm going to stand outside. So, if anyone ask, I'm outstanding!
